Some people dream big, some people dream about money, some people dream of success, and here in the South, most people dream about BBQ!  The 2013 Smoke on the Lake BBQ Festival will be held at Cauble Park in Acworth on Friday and Saturday, May 10th and 11th.  Friday night in Acworth, there will be a moonlit concert to whet your appetite.  Come back Saturday to fulfill your dreams and test the BBQ to see who’s the best.  Also, if your dream is to win a BBQ competition or just judge one, the City of Acworth is still accepting applications too!  Go outside tonight and wish upon a star so you can end up in Acworth fulfilling your BBQ dreams!

Be one of the first in your community to celebrate the arts!  The City of Acworth is holding its first annual Acworth Art Fest on April 13th and 14th.  It will be held in historic downtown Acworth.  It was originally planned by the Acworth Downtown Development Authority and the Acworth Area Convention and Visitor Bureau, then the idea took root with the City of Acworth.  This is the kind of idea that makes your neighborhood, community, and city a better place to live.  There will be over 120 arts vendors and a special kids area. Come support Acworth Art Fest and help make the town an even more vibrant place to live!

Location- Historic Downtown Acworth. All streets in the downtown area will close at 4am Saturday, April 13 through 9pm Sunday April 14, 2013.

Here’s an opportunity to run off those extra Thanksgiving pounds right in your Acworth neighborhood at the 4th Annual Acworth Turkey Chase 5K Fun Run & 2K Walk.  The 4th Annual Acworth Turkey Chase 5K Fun Run & 2K Walk will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012.  Take a jog, stroll, or walk through the lovely downtown streets of historic Acworth and then on to the serene shores of Lake Acworth.  All that’s required to enter is a non-perishable food item to recieve your race number and turkey shirt.  Sponsored by the City of Acworth Parks and Recreation Department, the food items that you provide will benefit the Tackle Hunger program and your local community.  The 4th Annual Acworth Turkey Chase 5K Fun Run & 2K Walk will start & finish on Main Street in Downtown Acworth.  The 5K Run will begin at 9am, the 2K walk at 9:15am on Main Street in Acworth. There will also be a Little Pilgrim Trot for children up to age 5 beginning at 10am on Main Street.
